If you were to die right now, do you know where you would go? The answer is either Heaven or Hell. There is no other place mentioned in the Word of God, the Bible. So where would you end up? Heaven or Hell? Most us would say Heaven of course. We feel we are good people and don’t deserve Hell. We haven’t killed anyone, or done anything wrong, but what are we comparing ourselves to? First of let’s look in the Bible.

Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned and fell short of the glory of God." Have you every stolen anything? Have you ever lusted for someone? Jesus once said if you have had lust for someone, you have committed adultery in your heart. Have you ever used God’s name in vain? Look at the Ten Commandments. Have you ever broken one of them, even a little? We all have, that is you, it says in Romans 3:23. Now that we know that we have all sinned, what is the penalty or wage of sin.

Romans 6:23 states "For the wage of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus." Wow, we all deserve death. That is eternal separation from God. That means being cast into the Lake of Fire which is Hell. Let’s read more.

Romans 5:8 states "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this, while we were still sinners Christ died for us." And, John 3:16 states "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God sent Jesus to the world to die on the cross for our sins.

Jesus said the He was the only way to the Father.

In Romans 10: 9-10, " That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart, God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved!! For it is with the heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved!!"

So what should I pray to be saved? Pray this: "Dear Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God and died to forgive me of my sins. I know I have sinned. I ask you to forgive me. I turn from my sins, and receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. I want to live for You the rest of my life. Amen." Unless one truly means this prayer, it becomes only mere words. But, those who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. Tell someone about your decision to follow Christ.
