All for His Glory and the Love of a Child
“Check it out now To God be the Glory” a little song tool
That we all learned at Bible School
A cool little ditty not used much
But it carried with it a sweet special touch
Well we all had snake, opossum, and rat on a stick
Gettn’ the chicken past Buddy that was the trick
Naw not really now yall just sit back and smile
Near every task was done “For the love of a Child”
Sister Heathers cardboard chariot races
Put a big smile upon all of their faces
Why I’d wager that at least 9 out of 10
Asked at least once “Can I do it again”?
The secret church, market place and teaching booths
Were a joy to share with all the youths
Sister Nancy in charge of that orderly commotion
For Love and for Grace now I’m of the notion
Praising God-singing songs-giving him all the Glory
The most important lessons in our V.B.S. story
The most gratifying experience I’ve had in awhile
A pure honest joy, they made us all smile
All so beautiful, meek, loving and mild
All for The Glory and learning and the Love of a Child
Brother Paul and old Brutus singing “Chain, Chain, Chain”
Was the Biggest hit of the whole blessed thing
We all sang, gave shouts and rejoiced
It all came together in one big happy voice
A better experience probably never had
By most Mothers, Brothers, Sisters or Dads
And if you were not there you surly missed out
You should be there next year; it’ll be your turn to shout
For the smiles on their faces can melt hearts of stone
And I can tell you its better than being home alone
My new Bud-little partner- Caden by name
At a Friday night sing-over to me he came
I hugged and petted him while he sat on my lap
And just a few minutes later-he was taken a nap
Well two short days later before church began
I did not notice that up to me he’d ran two little arms round my legs then I felt
And when he said “I love you” my heart it did melt
Now here’s what I’ve been try in to state all this while
That’s what it’s about The Love of a Child
“Now To God Be the Glory” always brings me a smile
That and again “The Love of a Child”
