Haiti ministry

If you are not aware, we at Lannie Road Baptist Church sponsor a child in Haiti. It was in one of our Proclaims a couple of months ago. Our children have become involved we him and we pray for him as often as God lays him on our hearts. As you know Haiti has been hit with a catastrophic earthquake and resulted in chaos and devastation. Sadly, there are many deaths, thousands of children and families have lost everything, and they anticipate some of Compassions church based child development centers have been destroyed. As you know they are in immediate need for food, water, medical care, shelter and many other things. We also know that where Lesly (our child) is was only about 50 miles where the hardest area was hit. Compassion has written us a letter and as of yet do not know the well being of our child but reassured us that they are working rapidly to assess the situation and determine the full extent of damage, and how he is doing. They will let us know as soon as possible.

The reason for this article is to ask each one of us who help sponsor this child, through our tithes and offerings, to pray and ask God, What is my part, how can I help? Theses Families and children can use our help in what ever we can do. Compassion is asking for a generous gift to help all the precious Compassions-assisted children and their families who have been affected by this crisis. Not only will we be helping our child through our giving but we will be able to help many other children and families. Please seek God in this matter and do what he tells you. Make sure you mark it when you place it in the offering box as Compassion International, and please keep all who are involved or affected in your prayers. Thank you and God Bless.
